Wardrobes
A Wardrobe can also be known as an Armoire or a Closet.
The term wardrobe usually refers to a tall wooden cabinet like piece of furniture, whose main function is to store clothing. The majority of wardrobes are freestanding and therefore moveable (although some are very heavy particularly when filled with clothes). However some wardrobes can be built into a room as part of a range of professionally fitted bedroom furniture and so becomes a permanent fixture. Some larger homes may feature a walk in wardrobe, which is usually the equivalent size of a small room.
Some may have even larger dressing rooms which may feature wardrobes plus additional chests of drawers and a dressing table. Wardrobes are used on a daily basis as the main furniture item in the bedroom in which to store shoes and hang clothes.
As they are a regularly used piece of bedroom furniture, they need to be strong, durable and functional as well as being attractive and stylish.
